Randomness to Inspire Creativity

I saw this little exercise crawling through the Facebook ranks. At first I thought, oh no, not another silly Facebook game; but then I read the actions and realized that the steps that lead to the final product could actually help you cross an artistic (or writer’s block). Here it is (with my final product at the end):

  1. Go to Wikipedia and hit random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
  2. Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
  3. Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
  4. Use Photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.

Check out the London Children’s Ballet article on Wikipedia.
Finally the quote clipped is from Bertrand Russel “Our great democracies still tend to think that a stupid man is more likely to be honest than a clever man.”
